Monday in Cairns
Last night Nik stayed up to see the football results (we could not afford to go out on the beers at midnight, esp as we predicted it would be disappointing…) so we had a small lie in.
Munched some breakfast at the hostel and chatted to some other Brits for most of the morning - it was a sunny day ideal for chillaxation.
Went out on errands, which included getting money for snorkelling, getting bug repellent (Hannah is itchy!) and getting picnic food for tomorrow's trip to Fitzroy island. Also going to the print shop to get our bus tickets printed out for Wednesday - oh the mundane travel stuff!
We did also go and take a look at Grafitti Alley, which is what you would expect and is very cool. We got some good pics.
Had another super salad that made people jealous and chatted UFC to some Canadians for a while. Nik then went out to a gym with punch bags with a boxing Brit that lives here while Hannah loafed about.
Nik came back very excitable and hungry, so we went for free dinner - tonight's delight: savoury mince and rice. It was surprisingly edible, although gave Hannah a meat hangover. Then we went for coffee, before heading back for tea and cookies before settling down to catch up on Season Three of True Blood (to make mother and Una jealous) and watch some season one of Party Down, which is absolutely brilliant. After which, we had an earlyish night ready for getting up for our day out tomorrow.
