TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
TUESDAY - Got up early for our morning all inclusive breakfast buffett, so much to choose from Bonus!! Chilled by the pool although not much sun on Tuesday. Grrrrr...!!! Met a lovely girl Becky on Tue night after chatting gave us a few tips as to how to get to Chang Mai, really brave she was out here alone, although had done a similar route a few years ago. The evening continued with a few cocktails and a traditional Thai body and foot massage OMG we never knew we could be so bendy/flexible!!! One hour 10 mins for 4pounds (Bargain)!!
WEDNESDAY - Experienced our first Tuk Tuk ride, R was cacking herself after a few hairy turns, but then became used to it and T couldnt stop laughing at R but loved the thrill of it. After seeing a few temples and the National Museum (golden mountain, lucky buddha, standing buddha). We ended up being taken to a few jewellery and fashion shops to help out our driver Han who was lovely, for this he gets tokens towards petrol and as we hadn't seen any sites by this point. We thought it would be worth it for the ride and for the breeze through our hair. He was designated to us for 4hours for only 20pence Bargain...!! Crazy money...
Arrived back at our hotel and had pizza for tea, met up with Becky and had a few more cheeky cocktails (well when in rome) and some Traditional Pad Thai off a street vendor (amazing) so cheap 1pound. After this we went to a Bar called The Brick Bar where we were greeted by smiling and happy thai's who chinked our glasses at every opportunity, they love the BRITS!!! After this we went on to a place called Gazzebo a roof top bar with live music and a disco, more drinks followed, it was here we met 2 guys from Sydney who were lovely, had a great time dancing the night away. They were going onto England why oh why... Each to there own!! Said goodbye to Becky as she heads to Southern Thailand.
Browsing the shops was the order of the day for Thursday, our last night was spent in the heart of Khoa San Road, went to a travel agents and booked our onward journey from Bangkok to Chang Mai. Going by train today at 7.35pm arriving in Chang Mai at 9.45am Sat morning. We have a 2nd class sleeper so hopefully won't be too bad, fingers crossed!!! Accommodation booked, chilling the first day we get there on Saturday, traditional thai cooking class, jungle trek/elephant trek, elephant training school and a 2 day cruise down the Mekong towards Laos. We hope our bums dont get too numb.
Today Friday we have visited The Grand Palace and Wat Arun by Riverboat and got caught in a thunder storm with striking lightning, had to sit under a bridge for about 20mins till the storm and rain ended, outcomes the sun - bizarre weather.
Bangkok complete onto Chang Mai.
Thats all for now folks, till next time
Love to you all
