Well after a 6 hour bus ride we have arrived in Kuala Lumpur....first a note about the bus... we payed 16 pound each and had one of the most comfortable journeys as we were super VIP! We had an electronic reclining seat with entertainment unit! The bus only had 20 passengers. We asked for the cheaper coach but it was full and we were so glad now. We viewed our little extravagance as a treat as we knew bus journeys in Cambodia might not be as nice haha.
So Kuala Lumpur...in a nutshell...probably the worst place we have visited so far! It is a dirty city with crazy traffic and rude people!
So what did we do in our 3 days? Well Emma played with her camera for most of the time haha. We visited Batu caves, which funnily enough are caves. Basically a huge golden statue looks over the city with 272 steps next to it. We climbed the steps and had a nice view! The site itself is a sacred site for muslims who pilgramgage here. It was a nice place to visit but I think the most memorable part was actually getting there. Public buses in Kuala Lumpur are so much fun. The conductor basically shouts out of the door the destination repeatidly..."Batu caves batu caves batu caves" very fast and then adding "getting full" when the bus filled up. It was hilarious and I think the journey from Bempton to Brid or Cannock to Wolverhampton could do with this!
We also went to the observation tower (which is in the picture) This was just like most observation towers except this was the 4th tallest in the world!!! wow!!! We had a nice curry from a really good restaurant there...we have learnt that we prefer north Indian food to that of the south (its not as hot!!!!) We went up the tower at dusk and saw the city light up. It was a nice thing to do but other than this and Batu caves...theres not a lot else in Kuala Lumpur....
We went to the cinema on the final night (like i said theres not much to do!) We watched "Wanted" which was a good old no brainer action movie... however...it was a strange experience due to the film being censored!!! It was crazy!!! It still had an 18 certificate but all the swearing was blanked out!!! Very strange to see in the cinema and as a result we found parts of the film rather funny!!!
Andrew bought what can only be described as dodgy fake addidas trainers for a fiver from a stall in chinatown...they have passed the water test....but how long they will last remains to be seen. The car of Kuala Lumpur is the Proton....theres hundreds of them (all the taxis!) So that was funny to see protons with flash body kits and stuff.
All in all Kula Lumpur wasnt that amazing as we didnt really like the place... That said....it was ok
Onward to Cambodia.....
