Hey Guys,
Sorry I haven't written in so long but I've been pretty busy trying to enjoy my last week in New Zealand. I'm leaving tomorrow and am completely gutted that it has all come to an end. I wish I could start the whole thing again, I have seriously loved every single minute of it. I would definately recommend the kiwi expereicne to anyone who is thinking of coming to New Zealand because it makes it loads more fun when you have a huge gang of people that you know.
So I did my bunjee a week a go and it was terrifying. I was really glad Matt came with me because I was so nervous. We had to go out into this glass pod hanging over a canyon and I had to wait an hour to jump because I was the lightest. I really wanted them to play the killers while I jumped but they said they weren't sure if it was on the album. As I stood up to do my jump it came on so I was really pumped up to do it then and knew I couldn't chicken out. I was doing ok until I had to walk to the end and then I thought I was going to faint. The guy counts from 5-1 and then you go and I actually managed to go on the first attempt which shocked me!
As soon as I jumped I regretted it and couldn't even scream because I was falling so fast, then nearer the bottom I thought it was really fun until you bounce back up and have to fall all over again!! I'm really glad that I did it but never again!!
For the next few days I just chilled out in Queenstown, Matt left and then the posh guys arrived the next day. People are always arriving that you know from other buses so you're never completely alone. We went on a day trip to Milford Sound one day which is the pic on here and its supposed to be the best natural sight in New Zealand. It was 10 hours of driving in total and then 2 hours on a boat. The views were amazing but because everywhere you go in New Zealand has amazing views it didn;t seem that special. If it had been in England then I would have thought it was the best thing ever!
That night was our last in Queenstown so we partied hard and then I almost missed the bus the next morning and my friend Henarta had to hold the bus for me!! I wasn't feeling too great that day. We spent most of the day driving to Christchurch so I managed to sleep the hangover off before we got there.
That night I went to the cinema with a few girls off my bus, we went to see Juno which was a pretty good film.
The next morning we had to be up really early to drive to Kaikoura which is where they have the best dolphin swimming in New Zealand. We had a really good bus for the trip and there was lots of old faces on it from earlier in the trip so we had a good laugh. When they passed around the list of activities dolphin swimming was full up so after I moaned constantly for an hour or so Ed gave up his place for me!
That day loads of the guys went on a fishing trip and came back with 80 blue cod and 10 crayfish which they had caught. One of the girls off the bus is a chef so she cooked them in loads of different sauces and we had a massive feast. It was my best meal in New Zealand and it was all free so we were loving it!
I had to be up at 4:30am the next morning because my dolphin swim began at 5:30am!! We went on a boat for about 30 mins until we found 100s of dolphins jumping around and doing tricks so we all had to get ready really quickly and jump in the water. It was so freezing that I couldn;t actually breathe for about a minute and had to cling onto the boat.
I eventually got used to it and we had 30 mins swimming around with these wild dusky dolphins. It was amazing but quite scary because they were wild and we were right in the middle of the sea so anything could have happened! You wouldn't be able to see anything and then all of a sudden tons of them would swim up from underneath you. I was trying to take pics of them but they move so quickly.
After 30mins I was totally frozen and got back on the boat but was feeling sooo seasick so I was clinging on to a bucket for the rest of the journey which was a shame because we went following some dolphins and the picture opportunities were amazing but I couldn't move!!
When I got back to the hostel it was check out time so I didn't get to top up on my sleep. Me, Ed and Paddy were getting a public bus back to Christchurch that day because the Kiwi bus was carrying on further north so we had a few hours to kill in Kaikoura. We just sat on the beach all day and had fish and chips. Then when we got back to christchurch we went out for our last meal together because they were leaving the next day. I was exhausted so was in bed for 10pm.
Today is my last day in New Zealand so I have just been wandering around and sending stuff home. I went to the cinema again to see Sweeney Todd which was absolutley awful because the whole thing was a musical. I was very dissapointed! I have a bus booked for the airport at 4am tomorrow so its bed early tonight and I should be in Cairns by 11:30am tomorrow. I was supposed to be doing a scuba diving course there but after my experience on the boat yesterday I'm not sure I can handle it!
Thats all for now, sorry I haven;t updated you all in ages. I hope everyone is ok.
Miss you all xxxx
