Hey guys,

So we left Phuket on the 5th January at 7.30am to make our journey south in to Malaysia. Not an easy thing when you have had no sleep and have a carrier bag full of 15 Singha beer cans for the journey.

I remember waking up a few hours later in a different mini van to the one we started in and near the border to Malaysia, The border crossing would have to be the easiest one done so far including Australia. We weretold the jprney wasroughly 8 hours but we didn't actually get to Penang until 8.30 that night and got dropped off in Georgetown. I hnestly did not expect much but some of the boys had heard Georgertown has great history and architecture (Uh Oh). Maybe it's because we were in Chinatown or because it was a ghetto but it didn't look all that great so it was decided the next day would be spent on "Miami" beach in Penang. That night howver we managed to catch 2 fa cup games.

The next morning, after checking out of our Deluxe, oddjob accomodation for the night we went straight to Starbucks and called for the first taxi we could. Got to the beach at about 1pm and found a lovely family run guesthouse named 'SHALINI's), Ask Shu this couple had too many chldren..lol. Myself, monkey, minky n Beans got our towels out and headed for the beachwhich was on our doorstep, the beach was not great copared to thai standards which was sloghtly disappointing but a 100 yards or so down the beach me and beans spotted a lovely hotel which was appropriately called ParkRoyal hotel. Dont knock it as this place was like home for a few days, beautiful pool, water slide and football goals in the Pool. You can iagine how amused and busy this kept us.

That night was very very heavy indeed, once again the two culprits were shu and neil who kept me out til 6am when they finally let me sleep drinking on the beach with numerous visits to the Bleeding Happy Mart!!!!! for more and more beer...the guys left on the moring of the 7th so they could get their morning of the 8th flight form KL leaving, me, hims, mush n rik. we spent that day sleeping and chilling and the following day back at park royal..lolMade few friends and pretty much enjoyed the facilities of the local Resorts but the beach itself is not so great which has me wondering why so many people visti Penang year after year??????
