Hi people, We arrived in Queenstown yesterday, this place is incredible definetely the best place yet. This morning me and Gill went up the mountain side on the city gondola and went 'luge' riding - it was the most fun i have had in ages.... basically its like bobsleighing on wheels (minus the snow of course!) down a track over jumps, through tunnels and generally losing all control!!! Bradley I can not explain how much you would love it! After 2 laps on the 'scenic' track to get used to our carts and gear (see photos of us both looking rather dashing) we felt we were experienced enough to tackle the 'advanced' track - it was v fast but excellent fun and gill only nearly wiped me out whilst overtaking - cow! We're stayin in our camper in a hostel car park at the moment because its cheap and because it has a hot tub overlooking the city and mountains! that was last nights evening sorted, wine and hot tubs, just like being at Joanne's house - except that was overlooking Frome cheese show field (equally as delightful!!) On the way here we stopped over at Mount Cook and trekked for 2 and a half hours around the mountains then got tired and turned back before actually getting to mount cook itself! What it was hot?! We saw some beautiful scenery along the way and have met some fantastic people. Grandma is doing us proud and so far we've had only a few minor mishaps.... the beauty of her is that with her wealth of age and experience comes many inherited dents and bumps, meaning that any new additions that may arise through her time with us should go unoticed and just blend in! I think we're planning on stayin around queenstown for a few days before heading towards the west coast. I hope things at home are wonderful, i've been told by mum its -2 degrees, thats not so bad... only 26 degrees less than here today UNLUCKY!!!!! Miss you all, Take care, Nikki xxxx
