I stopped over in The Bahamas for two days just simply because it looks nice, I'd never been before and it was the same price to stop off there as it was to get a return from Miami lol.
The first day I met a guy called Raul from the CS site. He showed me around Paradise Island, but with only 1 hour sleep the night before I was shattered and checked into a hotel by around 8pm. The hotel was nothing to write home about.. and construction work woke me up. So I decided I couldn't stay there again. Instead I got in contact with a guy called Eddie from the CS site, who is the embassador for The Bahamas on the site. He introduced me to a couple of his friends, who wanted to make my last night in The Bahamas an unforgettable one. They took me to a sushi bar, which was absolutely amazing! One of the guys there, Justin, actually catches the fish for this restaurant. It doesn't get fresher than that! The dessert was amazing, chocolate cake in spring rolls, a genius idea. Every plate I tried was just unforgettable.
I would definitely go back to The Bahamas, and get in contact with the same people again. They were all awesome.
As for The Bahamas as a country, it's very strange.. it's like a mix of the UK laws, US laws and their own laws. It's illegal to drink and drive, but, the police don't seem to worry as long as you don't crash. Most of the locals are really polite too.. just sitting at the bus stop waiting, around 6 people walked past saying "good morning".
I did have one guy come up to me saying "I need a white girl in my life, if I move to London will you marry me? Are you ready for marriage?" Wowww... Haha! I pretended to add him on Facebook so he'd go away, bless him lol.
I'm now at the airport waiting for my flight to the Cook Islands, the goodbyes to my family in Texas were difficult :-( I can't wait to see them again.
Flight three of three coming up!
Money spent: $430 (including flight split cost)
