Lake Tahoe or Lake Tohoe as Jim keeps calling it is known as the Sapphire Lake. Very pretty and it was a nice mile walk down to lake and this funny Viking style castle. The mile walk back up was a bit taxing but I need the exercise.

Today Yosemite was like rush hour in London and there were road works, like I said just like London. So we only spent a couple of hours here and most of that was spent in traffic, a bit disappointing as Jim had been dying to come here.

Pretty San Francisco. Gorgeous houses everywhere and very steep streets. For two nights we stayed in an RV Park that was over twice the price of what we normally paid and was really just a glorified car park over the road from Monster Park, home of the 49ers. So the third night we stayed in a hotel right in San Francisco which was only marginally more expensive and very convenient. I think I always imagined Calfornia to be like LA everywhere, couldn't have been more wrong. We are driving up the coast, which is rugged, colourful and very beautiful. The countryside is also very peaceful and pretty. At one point we had stopped to explore a bit and I was walking back to the van when I nearly stood on a snake that was across the path. I just managed to leap over it and stood about 5m away, it didn't seem at all bothered by the fact something...

Our camping ground was on the beach so we spent some time watching the sun go down, nice. It was funny when the guy just came cruising past on his bike and there were alot of guys out surfing.
