Another early wake up call this morning for our latest adventure...this definitely isn't a sleep in vacation!
The bus picked us up at 7 to go canyoneering. We had about a 20min drive but it's become pretty standard around here to only do part of our travels by car, the other part was in the back of a pick up truck!
Once we arrived we got suited up with harnesses and helmets...then we were off. Out first stop was a 10ft waterfall so we could get the hang of things, next up a 112ft waterfall! The worst part was stepping off the edge, then is was amazing! After that we walked through the water, climbing on rocks and jumping in pools of water, then another short repel before the grand finale...a 220 ft waterfall! We repelled down this one a bit then we let go and did a sort of free fall (similar to zip lining).
After the morning adventure we were ready for a lazy afternoon. We thought there was a lake we could sit by...wrong, so one expensive cab ride later with a stop to take some pictures of Coatis on the side of the road we were back where we started. We took our books to the park and sat in the sun. Of course we needed an ice cream, but not just any ice cream, we couldn't decide what flavor so we got a gigantic waffle cone filled with three flavors! Yum!!
At dinner Mandy and I filled up on carbs to get ready for our extreme hike tomorrow....
