Nick's Travels
Have passed into Peru, one of the main reasons i chose this area. Its lovely, have just spent two days on Lake Titicaca visiting islands and stayed with a traditional family. We hiked a bit then played a football game against the locals, which at 4000 meters was a bad idea! although the visitors won remarkably. After that we ate with our family (me and phil) then they dressed us in traditional clothes, a hat and poncho and took us to a dance. It was a good laugh but again tiring, each dance was about 10 mins long! The next day we visited the 'floating islands'artificial islands made of reeds and roots which are permanent homes for some people. Very interesting, rode a reed boat then headed back to Puno. Tomorrow i go on to Cuzco for a few days which should be good, lively place i hear. Getting near the end of my time in South America sadly. Still the start of the next big change i guess. Looking forward to the inca trail in a few days. Hope your all good, nick xxx
