G'day mates
You may be upset that Nic and I are no longer travelling companions but you can wipe those tears away, Nic is heading to Sydney on Tuesday (by coach-crazy fool) as she missed me too much! I think the idea of office work was a bit daunting for her and she has decided to come and do the East Coast with me - yippee! We are both checking out of our hostels on Tuesday and heading for another hostel called Base, hopefully we'll be in the same dorm room but who cares, I now have my iced-coffee friend back!
From my end Sydney is OK. The weather has been gorgeous since I arrived but I think it's going to start raining soon so you don't have to be that envious of me now! I've been to the Opera House and seen the Habour Bridge which were amazing. I will be posting pictures soon and I apologies now for my awkward smile as I was trying to take a picture of myself with the Opera House behind (just to prove I was actually there!) - rather embarrassing to say the least and I could only retake so many before people thought I was being vain! I must have timed my sightseeing day well as the Queen Victoria ship was docked there which is HUGE! There are balconies for every passenger's room. No such luxury for me in the hostels I'm staying at!
I also have visited the Royal Botanical Garden and got lost! It's massive and they don't have an exit sign, just signs on how to drift further into the maze!
I bought myself a travel pass which allows me access to the Sydney aquarium, Sydney Tower and their wildlife centre. I've already gone to the aquarium and saw the seals, sharks, jelly fish and Finding Nemo cast! I must advise if anyone is thinking of doing it NOT to go on a Saturday when the little mites are running about, stamping on your feet and who seem to think they can barge infront of you to see the fish - eeer, I maybe classed as an adult but I want to see it too! It was pretty good though, again I promise to post the pics soon!
The hostel (Footprints Westend) is OK. I'm in a 4 bed girls only dorm. It's a perfect location though, in the middle of Chinatown which is mayhem! They have the cheapest sushi EVER on the street corners (King Sushi is my favourite) only $5 for a lunch box! I take it over to Darling Harbour and scoff my face there - the scenery is stunning.
Not much more to tell as I"ve only been here 3 days. I've already met my friend from England (Richard) and we are starting to plan our trip to the East Coast. We were thinking of renting a camper van in Cairns and driving down to Melbourne. We can't leave until 12 March as he work so I'm stuck in Sydney for 2 1/2 weeks! It's so crazy. Already I can't wait to move on! Still Nic is coming up so I'm happy :)
Anyway must dash as there is precious sunshine I am missing out on!
I hope you're all well. Missing you guys.
