It was a real shame to leave Byron, but i was looking forward to the day ahead. Traveling further down to coast until arriving at 'Spot X' sruf accademy. This is to be my home for the night. Within an hour of getting off the bus thuogh we were kitting up and getting ready to go out.
I decided to stay with the group to start with to see how they are getting taught, this proved to be pretty useful as i picked up far more consistent waves and was slightly more reliable standing up aswel!
A wicked days surfing with not too bad waves. Definately got some bruises and cuts to show far a good day, but a nice feeling of being tired having done something... a feeling iv been missing! and a very nice usual feeling of a few places aching after a few bashes!
After a delicious meal of which we were able to go up for seconds, we all assembled around the camp fire, loads of people so wasnt easy to chat to loads of people but still a very sociable feel. Suddenly our driver produced a guitar, a few people had a little tickle with it however it got pushed in my direction... i had let slip to a few people there in previous conversation that i played guitar. Starting off with a couple of songs i thought people would know, and it worked not even a verse in and almost everyone around the fire was singing along. I carried on for a few more songs before a couple of other guys joined in, by the end of the night the 3 of us were just passing the guitar around when a new song came into our heads. I braved throwing one of my own songs out there... and to my surprise it went down well!
The owner of the guitar went to bed which meant he took the guitar with him. Everyone was upset for a couple of minutes then 2 of us started up singing a song without any music, people joined in pretty quick and we spent the next few hours into the early hours of the morning singing loads of random songs. A great evening to end a great day!
