Heyhey kids. New Zealand continues to fly by! Here's a wee update from t'other side of world...
Continued on down the north island till we reached the bottom, hitting Wellington! The windy city. My was it windy. Really great city, although I was only there for the evening. Managed to have a look around the National Museum of NZ. Saw a big squid. Watched some italians play some music. As you do. All free - the four letters that put a big smile on my face.
Ferried across to the south island - incredible journey. 'Ferrying' across the Cook straight and going past lots of great islands along the way. Headed down to Nelson, via some free wine tasting, obviously, and trecked the Abel Tasman walk. A treck you usually do in four days, but I only had one day. Alas, I was sitting on a beach, on my own, and a pod of dolphins swam on by! It was rather pleasant, actually.
Next, we went to Greymouth. Where the highlight of the town is to go to the pub. SO. We took it upon ourselves to take them up on their offer. We did a tour of the brewery and they let us loose on the taps. Silly owners. Happy backpackers. Met two canadian girls and a guy from Norway who I am vaguely travelling with now - all travelling on their own. We're having fajitas tomorrow night, so I'm happy.
Today I have walked over Franz Joseph glacier - about a 6/7 hour hike. The photos say it all. It was surreal, incredible, amazing. I'll let the photos do the talking on that one.
Next stop, Queenstown.
Love to all. :)

Big Sis I continue to be green with envy... yet I still feel the need to tell you that Italians is a proper noun and therefore deserves a capital letter at the start! Enough of the teacher talk! q22222222222222
