We stayed in Lucerne for a day- it is lined with mountains and a river and lake. It is a small town famous of its Chapel Bridge, which we walked. They also have the Lion Monument- a lion carved in a large stone on a mountainside representing with the swiss guards were killed by french guards while protecting the french king in their revolution- a stab in the back by the french. We sat in their church for a while just taking it all in- another treasure found (an all pink church :). I had the most expensive Starbucks ever- 7.60 for a small coffee. We went to a traditional FONDUE lunch with yoddeling, flag throwing, bell ringing, alpenhorns... O YA! We took a cruise on the lake to get some good views of the mountain side.
The next day we went up MOUNT PILATUS (next to Lucerne) in ski-lift like sky bubbles. We stayed the night on top of Mt. Pilatus which had over 9 feet of snow and was 7000 ft above sea level! The Australians had never seen snow before so it was really fun to watch them play in it- we built snowmen (which they kept calling nick the snowman master) and had snowball fights. That night we watched EUROTRIP at the hotel pilatus- very appropriate for the time :)
