Due to relentless rain and wind our trip to Philips Island is a complete disaster. Although we persist and trek down to see the seals we give up and make the day a driving day because the weather is so bad. It was the coldest, wettest day in February on record. Thankfully I have brought I fleece blanket and out camper is a 'deluxe' so we are kept safe and dry. I am gutted about Philips Island though. We head up to East coast but stop in Eden for lunch and watch about 15 dolphins swimming in the sea. Nick was convinced they were sharks but they are so playful and jumping around that he changes his mind. Amazing. End up In Narooma where Nick joins some 6 year old in the bouncing pillow as he lands a small girl flies into the air and lands on her face, starts crying and runs to her mum. Nick runs away. A lot of time is spent travelling, lying on beaches, body boarding, eating and stopping off at different places until we get to Sydney. It's a difficult life. Go through Newcastle and I decide I want to go 'out of the way' to Nelsons bay. Nick is not overly happy about this decision but when we get there it is amazing (sorry I keep saying that) I think this is my best place so far. We swim in the sea that is so warm and clear (no fish) and about 20m away there are 2 dolphins swimming! In the morning we do a bit of sand boarding in the sand dunes and then hit the beach. I go out on the body board (getting a bit more confident) when i get hit by a massive wave, go under, get spun around a bit and I think I am going to die. When I finally come up my hair in all over my face and im very relived to be alive. Nick is very concerned but his body board is ok. We head on up South West Rocks and get fish and chips on the beach. Nick tries out his new rashy top (wants to look like a pro) and then find a camp site. Well to bring you up to date we are in Coffs Harbour where it is so hot I feel like I am in a sauna. We were in the pool at 8.30 this morning and I was to hot! I got eaten alive by a mosquito last nite and am trying not to get burn. Im trying to persuade Nick to get a mcds but we will see how that one goes.
