And as you always seem to remind me, everything is in God's perfect timing. Hope your having a wonderful day!

Magen,
Miss seeing you at work. Doesn't sound like you are missing work at all.
So kiteboarding instruction sounds like it has fallen to the bottom of priorities behind adventure and lots of experiences.
Keep up the good work relaxing and having fun. Jude
P.S. did you hear Doro is engaged? Probably getting married at the end of the year sometime.

Greetings Peninsula Land Lubbers! I'm still getting goosebumps after your last entry. I hope you found some of that thermal activity and can't wait to see more photos. Can't wait to try out the new revised Burnham drive round about and I WILL merge like a zipper!! LOL

Hi Magen! Glad you guys are still having fun. Hope the weather is better up north where you are than down here in Wellington. Do you have plans to go to Rotorua or Lake Taupo? Those are both very pretty and lots to do there. Lot's of geothermal activity and volcanos. Kite surfing is very popular here in Wellington. We have lots of wind! My husband is free diver/spear fisherman. He says the best way to get them is to get in the water and hunt them! Good luck, I hope you catch something soon! So have you heard the kiwis say brilliant or good on ya mate? They use both a lot! Sweet as is another saying you will hear. You need to find a book called The Politically incorrect book of Kiwi slang. It is very funny and worth taking back to the Yanks! That's what they call us. How long are you guys in NZ for? Hope all is well! Have fun and continue to enjoy your holiday!

I love to hear the stories! I will be in Greenville, SC by next weekend so maybe we can bump into each other online here. Last time you tried to chat I was actually driving and my computer was still connected to the internet. So sorry, i was a little distracted.
"Merge like a zipper" is a sign they need in Jersey!!!! Everyone here stops! actually full complete stop before smashing the gas peddle to the floor when they see a gap! THAT IS NOT MERGING!!!!!!
We will chat soon,
Jaime

Week 3 top 5
1.) Like a zipper. So there are these signs all over New Zealand that say "merge like a zipper" We thought that was too funny. And people really do merge properly. So now it's a joke evertime we merge... Nick says.. like a zipper.. yep like a zipper. :)
2.) Cheers or Fantastic! These two words are so common over here. It's like us saying hi or thanks or that's awsome/cool/ great.
3.) Motorway doesn't necessarily mean it's a main road... especially in the far north... we were on a dirt road which was apart of the "main" highway for at least 20min.
4.) The people here are so nice. Everyone willing to answer a question or advice on where to go next on your travels.
5.) The fish here don't like Americans. We have been fishing for the last 5 6 days in a row and caught nothing. hmmm.. guess we will keep trying!

Hello Adventure Seekers! You sound like a travel book.....I am following your route in my book and according to the guide you are headed to the warmest part of the island so soak it up! Did you see the blog comment from Hayley Pine who lives in Wellington? I was amazed and thrilled to see how this site reaches out and networks with so many people.....I hope you get a chance to meet her........your life is so much more exciting....did I mention that you are not missing a thing here....except work..... all I did today was housework, yard work and mow the lawn and struggle with how to start the blower..( I miss you Nick....and Magen I miss your creative flair....did I mention I am entering a scarecrow in a contest in a few weeks? I made one and your dad already is planning to take it apart to "fix it" you know what I mean?.. We're just going along.....it is getting darker sooner and the rain is coming .....like I said...nothing much is changing here except the weather........Love you both...hugs around...
love, Cheryl/Mom

Wow!
You have done a lot since we talked last! I am so excited for you! I hope all is well. I know what you mean about a little quiet. I just did a little tour of the State Parks of New York and I think last night I was the only person in the campground. Other nights there have been at least two people.
I can not wait to see some pictures. I might have internet more frequently myself as I get closer to big cities. I miss you and love you.

Warm Greetings to you from Home...
Great reading your stories and imagining you adventures. It all sounds familiar as we read about the towns that you travel through and the sheep and cows everywhere.. Good Times!!
Good that you headed north towrds the warmth.. Just talked to a Mom at our school who is from NZ and she was chatting about all of the good food.. Don't miss the yogurt. Best on the planet!! Really, you can't find anything that compares. The fish and chips are good too, just be ware that the family size is just that, huge.. Fran and I ordered that and a huge amount of food came over the counter wrapped in newpaper.. She also said the shepard pies and sausage rolls are yummy... Ice cream unbelievable as well.. Hence the cows.. I remember that while traveling in NZ and Austrailia there were not alot of vegitarian options...
If you get a chance it is fun to stay at a back packers, or hostel. Great way to meet fellow travelers and share adventures... Don't miss stopping at any of the farms that sell wool products. Beautiful stuff and great to chat with the locals. I am sure you are already seeing how friendly the locals are. Look for some fun hikes. Just walking in those amazing fern tree forests is magical... Fran and I use to read to each other when we were driving. It seemed to have a calming effect on who ever was driving.. It also was a great thing to do at night in our tent. HAve you seen the stars??? So amazing! The southern hemisphere is a whole new sky to explore... Look for the southern cross.. Awesome!!!
Remember this is your time to explore another part of the planet and to take all the time you need to just be. As you move through the days you will notice how time simply dosen't matter.. You eat when you are hungry, sleep when you are tired, play the rest of the time... Not bad to spend four months of your life listening to the rhythems of the earth and of your souls...
So my dears, laugh, love, play (No, not eat, love, pray) although you can do that too. Embrace this time and each other and wake up each day with a sense of wonder and awe for each moment.
