Mom Force Greetings Peninsula Land Lubbers! I'm still getting goosebumps after your last entry. I hope you found some of that thermal activity and can't wait to see more photos. Hayley Pine Hi Magen! Glad you guys are still having fun. Hope the weather is better up north where you are than down here in Wellington. Do you have plans to go to Rotorua or Lake Taupo? Those are both very pretty and lots to do there. Lot's of geothermal activity and volcanos. Kite surfing is very popular here in Wellington. We have lots of wind! My husband is free diver/spear fisherman. He says the best way to get them is to get in the water and hunt them! Good luck, I hope you catch something soon! So have you heard the kiwis say brilliant or good on ya mate? They use both a lot! Sweet as is another saying you will hear. You need to find a book called The Politically incorrect book of Kiwi slang. It is very funny and worth taking back to the Yanks! That's what they call us. How long are you guys in NZ for? Magen Week 3 top 5 1.) Like a zipper. So there are these signs all over New Zealand that say "merge like a zipper" We thought that was too funny. And people really do merge properly. So now it's a joke evertime we merge... Nick says.. like a zipper.. yep like a zipper. :) 2.) Cheers or Fantastic! These two words are so common over here. It's like us saying hi or thanks or that's awsome/cool/ great. 3.) Motorway doesn't necessarily mean it's a main road... especially in the far north... we were on a dirt road which was apart of the "main" highway for at least 20min. 4.) The people here are so nice. Everyone willing to answer a question or advice on where to go next on your travels. 5.) The fish here don't like Americans. We have been fishing for the last 5 6 days in a row and caught nothing. hmmm.. guess we will keep trying!

Cheryl/Mom Hello Adventure Seekers! You sound like a travel book.....I am following your route in my book and according to the guide you are headed to the warmest part of the island so soak it up! Did you see the blog comment from Hayley Pine who lives in Wellington? I was amazed and thrilled to see how this site reaches out and networks with so many people.....I hope you get a chance to meet her........your life is so much more exciting....did I mention that you are not missing a thing here....except work..... all I did today was housework, yard work and mow the lawn and struggle with how to start the blower..( I miss you Nick....and Magen I miss your creative flair....did I mention I am entering a scarecrow in a contest in a few weeks? I made one and your dad already is planning to take it apart to "fix it" you know what I mean?.. Jaime Wow! You have done a lot since we talked last! I am so excited for you! I hope all is well. I know what you mean about a little quiet. I just did a little tour of the State Parks of New York and I think last night I was the only person in the campground. Other nights there have been at least two people. I can not wait to see some pictures. I might have internet more frequently myself as I get closer to big cities. I miss you and love you. Jaime
