Choppers Travels
Got into Saigon on the 13th.. Pretty big city, we're staying in the western end (no surprise there, don't want to be more than 50 yards away from a burger). The hotel is pretty nice, the staff are great and the laundry service is dead cheap. Saigon is full of amazing things, you have the Chi Chi tunnels, the war musium, a cracking tour down the river and loads and loads of amazing markets, however true to form me and Nic have spent the last 3 days watching movies on the cable telly (sorry, that and american Idol) and we've done very little else.
We did try walking to a market, once we got there (after about 5 wrong turns) we found that it was pretty rubbish, we'd walked to the wrong one and so found our selves in the local market (mainly selling washing powder and the odd dead thing covered in flies).
We're off on a Mekong delta tour tomorrow into Cambodia, we'll be there for St Paddy's night and we've arranged to meet a few people, we've also arranged to stay in the same hotel in the hope that there's safety in numbers walking (stumbling) home.
I understand that it's snowing at home, it's about 35 centigrade here, i'm not showing off (well maybe a little).
I've not got my camera with me so i can't put any pics on the internet today, apparently there's not much chance of accesing goot internet (t'internet) in Cambodia so i probably won't put any pics on for a month or so.
I'll let you know how things go in Cambodia, the plan is to spend a few days recovering from St Paddy's day in Phnon Penn then off to Siem riep to see the temples, then hopefull a couple of weeks in a place that sounds like Snoopyville (in the south). Should be good.
Adios
Matt (and Nic)
