I am one hungover puppy. Me and devin completed our PADI open water qualification yesterday and went out with our instructor (and his bird) for a few cheeky beers, we stumbled in at about 4.30am this morning and have basically just got out of bed (about an hour ago, it's now quarter to nine at night). The diving was great, i'm so proud of devin for doing the diving, she ummed and arred about doing it and i was (and still am) so happy that she decided to do it, she enjoyed it so much she's thinking of doing her advanced with me tomorrow (i don't want to say too much as i may jinx it, but how cool is that). we passed our course with flying colours, in fact devlin got one more question right than me on the exam (not that i'm bitter!). the first couple of dives were pretty clear, the last couple were a bit cloudy (these were videod so get ready to watch the dvd when we get back, i bet you can't wait hey!). There are some strange things under the sea (including me and nic), you tend to get bitten all the time by these little cleaner fish, they think they are helping but they are a bit of a pain in the arse (or leg, arm, head it just depends on what they want to "clean"). We also stumbled into the territory of a trigger fish, i've never heard of these before but they are angry b*****s. They are quite big (probably a bit bigger than your head) and if they bite you then you'll know about it, they've been known to take fingers off people who annoy them ,needless to say i stayed away from it. i think that's everything, we're doing our advanced over the next 2 days, then off looking at sharks (sounds pretty cool). Should be in Samui by the 28th, then over to the mainland and pee pee, krabi then malaysia. hope everything is going well for everyone. matt and nic (PADI)
