Choppers Travels
Got back from the treck yesterday at about 6pm, it was absolutely exausting. Along the way we had injuries (Ellen and a sprained ankle, george with a cut knee, Nicola with pig poo on her foot plus she fell of a bamboo bridge and whacked herself on a rock) and lots of blisters it was such a releaf to finish and be on the bus back home. Only now is it sinking in what we did, we rode on elephants, rafted down a river on bamboo (this was hard work), stayed in local villages with no electricity but a satalite dish?
The thing about trecking is that there's not too much to say about it, you walk up hill then down and you do this for hours (one day we did it for 6 or seven hours and for me it was allways with a hangover), it's not till you finish that you appreciate it. The views are pretty cool but we were in the jungle so all you see is trees (i couldn't see the woods) and your feet (if you look anywhere other than down then you will fall over in about 2 seconds). All very tiring and rewarding (i lost nearly 9lb's, that's how knackering it is, i wen't for a pizza last night to start the happy road to recovery inthe weight department).
Off to loas tomorrow (if we can decided whether to do the slow boat or fast boat, plus if there's room on the bus). will update the site asap.
Have a gooden
matt
