Well we're here. We finally got to Australia (took 5 and a half months to get here). It's a really bizarre experience to be the furthest you can possibly be from home and find that it's just the same as england (culturally speaking not so much the lovely sea and stuff, i think you know what i mean). We're staying in a nic hostel at the moment (paying about 18 quid a night), we did try staying in dorms but it wasn't for us (it's quite hard to have a cuddle on a bunk bed). Australia is a nice place, mind you it's not what i expected (seen no surfers for one thing). Cains is a pretty nice place, theres something called an esplanade in the center of town (see picture), its a man made beach with an outside pool and free bbq's, really nice. We went down yesterday with a box of Goon (wine, 4 litres for 4 quid, makes your head ache like a gooden, i'm still hungover so i apologose if i make no sense) and nearly got fined 175 dollars by the police (no drinking in public places, i think thats why the public places look nice over here). We've been here for about a week now and have booked to go diving in the far notgh, cost us 400 quid each but we do get 12 dives out of that plus two low level flights over the reef, how cool is that?). I'm thinking of buying an underwater case for my camera (or even a new camera with case included, about the same price), so i should have some great photos for you. Been out a couple of times (once for a fancy dress party, i went as carmed electra who used to be in baywatch, like a brunette pamela anderson) other than that not actually done anything (apart from a lot of kipping). next time i update we should have been diving so should be good, apparently its minky wale season (?). we've got a phone so if you feel like ringing the number is 0061 407 066 542. have a gooden matt (and nic)
