Choppers Travels
well hello there (Rooney is rubbish).
can't remember what i last said but here goes.
Been to kuala lumpur, was a pretty nice place, booked into a nice hotel for the night and actually used the gym. We spent a lot of time in the pool perfecting our handstand technique (see pictures). The room was great (had a bath and everything, i knicked the soaps as usual). The hotel came with a free breakfast (ate loads) and two tickets to a theme park, all for 48 quid so not bad hey.
the theme park was a bit strange, basically it was in a shopping center (they love shopping centers over here). we spent enough time on the rides to feel a bit sick (so got our moneys worth). Other than that did very little (no sightseeing other than the big tower things).
From KL we went to melaka, only spent a couple of days there but did manage to meet the most colourful character we've met so far (i'm nearly 30 remember so i have to use phrases like that). Her name is Liz kay (see photo, she's the one on the right), she's 73 yrs old and has been traveling since 1957, how mad is that. She took us under her wing and guided us round for the day (along with a girl called elaine, nic thought she was interesting, i didn't!). It was a strange day, we met her mates in melaka, it was nice to actually speak to malaysian people (i know it's a cliche but ther are all really nice).
the picture above shows the 3 ladies sitting on massage chairs, LIz sorted this out (she does it every day apparently), bascally it's a demo stand in the middle of a shopping center (you've seen them in england with 4 or 5 bored looking sales reps standing round), i don't know if they knew what hit em when liz walked in with 3 fellow travelers demanding a demonstration (15 mins i might add) but i;m sre they knew we weren't gonna buy them (it's a bit hard to fit a large electronic chair into your backpack). anyway it was fun (thought my back still hurts, i was put on the thai massage setting, ouch).
We left for singapore on a really fancy coach, i was a bit sad when we arrived (but i am sad).
Singapore has been good (i've managed to spend about 100 quid and am now the proud owner of another portable DVD player and two games for my psp, one of which i allready have on my playstation, mind you i did nearly buy a laptop so i've not done too bad).
We've done nowt really, mainly we've got drunk watchin football (england lost by the way dad).
Off to Oz tomorrow, i'm so excited. I'm gonna be a surfer and live on ramsey street. Catch ya later mate (in an australian accent), put another shrimp on teh barbie and chuck us a scooner of xxxx (that's four x and not a swear word).
gday
matt and nic
