Hello to you ALL!
Many apologies for the late blog entry but unfortunatly Nic has been ill! We left on the tuesday night as you all no, arriving at dubai airport where we waited for 2 hours for next plane..all fine fine! Next flight though was bloody awful! It was 7.5 hours to Bangkok and we were both shattered..neither of us ate on the plane, i no shock! I managed to get through the journey without spewing ..yay! But then, shock horror just as we landed i spewed yummy! On my hand!-Lee. Ah well to cut a long a boring story short, Nic (i) was sick from Wednesday up until Saturday with bad sick and poopy! Yummy! Never mind, so didnt manage to get to see much of bangkok...although on the last night it was funny, made it out for a quick walk..on way bak to hotel some random man whispered ...psssttt...ping pong show?! Made the few days worthwhile!
Bangkok was not what we had imagined, its smelly and dirty. We got mithered to go on tuk tuks wherever you are and then when your on them they tke you to all suit shops! We did manage to see a few cultural sights though, chatted to nice man in temple about United!
Anyway onward and upward...Saurday morning we got picked up to go to Kanchanaburi. Morning spent at the bridge over the river kwai and visiting ww2 war cemetries. Then went to our rooms for the evening which was..interesting! A floating house on the river kwai. Uber cool! Afternoon spent at a waterfall where we had a dip in the fresh water..nice and cool. Then back to the floating house for the evening for tea and drinks. Sunday, we woke up early at 7 to go and bathe ELEPHANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an experience absolutely amazing. very friendly and kept on trying to chuck us off whilst we were sat on its back. Back for breakfast then out for bamboo rafting and a trek on an elephant. Afternoon spent at the Tiger Temple, where we stroked tigers and played with the tiger cubs (surreal).
Back to Bangkok at 19.00, then had to wait till 22.00 for the overnight train to chang mai (north). Luckily United were on so kept us entertained on the big screen!
Sleeper train was fun, felt like little kids on bunks! Journey great, arrived at chang mai at 1pm today. Arrived at hotel and its lovely, soft bed and a toilet with a flush! Amazing!!!!
Tarah for now!
Lee and Nic :)
