Went on a day trip to Pushkar. The bus took nealry 4 hours, rather than the stated 2, so we didn't have much time to look around. Had enough time to look around the stalls, and down by the holy lake. It was so nice. My favourite place so far. There were people down by the lake praying, washing and kids playing. Like mosques you had to take shoes off when walking near the water. There are actually 500 little temples all around he lake and there are loads of chants...

Had a well deserved lie in! Then to cut a long story short, we spent the day organising and planning and booking! Took all day, going between train stations, travel agents, phone, internet etc etc, and we were knackered but we managed it. We wanted to get the overnight sleeper train from Mumbai to Goa but it was booked up for the day we needed to travel, so we decided to spend a little extra and fly. Also got a flight from Goa to Kochin. Only worrying thing ...

Early start got us on the road to Jaipur. Mr Sharma (and yes we did get a photo of him, for those who asked!) took us through a local area on the way out - wow that opens your eyes (and the smell makes them bleed!). The poverty is bad and there are just people sleeping on the streets and the kids are in rubbish piles looking for bits of food etc, and they are just filthy. We finally managed to find the 'real' official delhi tourism place - not the 'official tourism of delhi', or the'delhi official tourism' or indeed the 'delhi official government supported tourism office' (all tout shops).
