Sharon's Travels
Well hello everybody. It's probably quikcer to tell you what I haven't been doing, cos I've done so much since I last updated! Today is the end of my bus tour around around the North Island and I'm back in Auckland for one night (on my own!!!), then I head off to the Bay of Islands tomorrow. This is at the top of the North Island, and has 144 islands (awesome).
Well I did my Sky Dive, it was amazing and I have lived to tell the tale. I offered to be the first person to jump (thought it would be better to go first, cos I won't have to watch everybody else!). The view was magnificant at 12,000 ft, I could see all of the blues and greens in Lake Taupo (which is the biggest lake in the New Zealand, you can fit the whole of Singapore inside it ans still have anough room to drive around). The whole way down I was screaming with excitement (Glen the instructor must have thgought I was mad), then when I landed the ruch from doing it lasted for hours. To celebrate I went out and got drunk, and went to a nite club (which reminded me of the Big E before it was re-furbed), classy joint!!!).
On 15th I went to a place called River Valley which was in the middle of knowhere. It was surrounded by hills, deer, sheep and cows and a river which has catergory 5 rapids, its famous for White Water Rafting. The lodge we stayed in was right on the river, what a beutiful setting. They had outdoor and some communal showers which was different and mixed rooms, but it was ok cos I had a roast beef dinner that night!
The following morning I went on a horse trek around the hills, all you could see for miles was green hills, deers and cows, which seemed to take a liking to my horse Chestnut!. The only house you could see was where the horses were kept.
This country is so amazing, I've seen a complete contrast of snow capped mountains, hills, beaches, waterfalls and cities, it's just awesome, I wish I could have more time here.
By the way, I've already started picking up the lingo, I say 'awesome' alot and instead of saying dollars I am saying 'bucks'!.
On Weds I head of to Oz for the next part of my trip.
Take carexxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
