returned from machu pichu to cusco,great return journey, from machu michu its an amazing bus journey down hairpin bends for 30 minutes(return cost is $14.00) to the train station ,the town of a qua coinlettes i know its the wrong spelling but cant find the guide book,

this town is basically one street stradling a railway line, with all freight and goods bought in my rail, like most towns near a main tourist attraction prices are steep,dont buy souviniers here, water costs 2 soles ,inca kola 4 soles, we ate at the salaknay restaurant, a pizza restaurant with an actual pizza oven ,costs 25 soles for apizza, it is used by all the trecking companies porters and staff and they can store luggage for you while you wait,we were then treated to the porters of lama path marching in close order formation to the train station,the actual train station is not on the main street,signs direct you through a large market selling these essential must have items. andean pan pipers play led zeppelin,

peru rail look grossly overmanned, you cannot go on the platform before your train is at the platform and your ticket has been checked by 4 railway officials, once you board there is little room for luggage in the overhead space, buffet service is provided of coca tea and inca cola, sweets and chocolates, before approaching each station perurail staff go down the train announcing in spanish and english the next station

amazing rail journey of 5 hours following the course of rivers highlighted by what would be described as an incredible descend into cusco involving reveres braking and switchbacks

staying at hotel taki wasi, sans blas, 10 minute walk downhill to main plaza and 4 soles taxi back to hotel,watch out for dodgy taxis,

we ate at jacks, real fat b****** portions for 25 soles and followed this up with drinks, 15 soles a guiness, 7 soles a cuisquino beer , and 2 for 1 cocktails betyween 10-11 at paddy flathertys authentic irish pub served by an australian barmaid and spanish waiter,bar closed at 1 and we garduated to ajazz bar for more , memory gets sketchy here though
