Arrived in Malaysia 5ish yesterday afternoon, but really 7ish PM Aussie time. So time for dinner, but will have to wait till we get settle into our Hotel. Prior to leaving Melbourne I booked the Bary Inn; a transit hotel near the international airport. They pick you up and drop you off at the airport, so very convenient.
Check out at the Bary is noon, so after breakfast we lounged around, with a newspaper and iPad. We had a yummy dinner in their restaurant last night Leigh had a fried rice dish and I had a noodle soup; afterwards we strolled around the block in the Malay balmy evening. Nice after a Melbourne winter
At noon we checked out and arrived at the airport for our flight with Malaysian Airways to Paris. We checked in our luggage and chose one of the many places to eat. We then wandered around and sticky beaked in the many shops from electronic gadgets to Italian designer bags and shoes.
It is now 5.15pm Malaysian time and we are just sitting down to a coffee and almond croissant before going in through to customs. Oh....I forgot to mention that apart from browsing the shops, we sat in one of the massage chairs and purchased for about $3Aus a 15 minute massage, it almost put me to sleep. I didn't want to get off but once the chair started beeping at me I decided I'd better hop off before the eyes of the passerbys glare at me thinking I'm freeloading a seat.
Leigh's off getting a magazine for the flight, we'll then head off through Customs and book into the Airside Hotel. This hotel is booked by the hour, designed for travelers who want a quick nap and a shower and a gym workout. Our intention is to purchase the gym facilities and a shower, aprox $10 Aus each. How good is that? We've got a few hours to kill and will have some dinner and board our flight to Paris at 11.50pm.
