So, woke up this morning to RAIN. Yes, I couldn't believe it. Having spent yesterday at the beach, without a cloud in sight, to pissing it down today. Worry not I thought, I am off to Mexico today.
But, during the 2 1/2 hour ride there, the rain got worse and worse. I got totally soaked in Tijuana, found out my shoes are in no way waterproof (thanks Clare - i stole them off you a while ago!). So i plodded around with swimming pools for shoes, but it was still really good fun.
Got dropped at the boarder, US side, and didn't really know where to go from there. Some Police Officer saw me looking clearly lost so I asked him the way to Mexico. He laughed at me and couldn't belive I was going on my own as a girl. At this point I got a little worried. Although he asked how old I was and seemed a little happier letting me go when he realised I was 25. I guess with a hoodie up, and looking like a drowned rat I possibly didn't look THAT old.
So he points me in the direction of this dodgy old bridge, i cross it and get to somme turnstyles. Thought about turning around at this point, a little cos of what the Policeman said, but mostly cos of all the trouble I seem to be having with the US government, was a little worried they wouldn't let me back in for some reason.
But I went anyway.
Could not belive the stuff you could buy!! (I didn't!), but you could literally get every drug (prescription or not) EVER, just selling in a Boots like pharmacy. And I thought the States was bad for selling illegal drugs!
So yeah, pottered around, saw some sights, bought some postcards and tacky keyrings, but declined a poncho - not much use in Australia I don't think!
Was, thank God, easily let back into the US. The guy at passport control actually just laughed at my photo (chubby-faced 16 year old just out of bed with wet hair - not a good look!).
