G'day!! This is it, I'm definitely gonna get caught up on all I've done... and BTW I'm in Melbourne!!
Saturday 3rd May
This morning we woke up and Carol and Darren made us a fantastic breakfast of pancakes and eggy toast!! It was fantastic! After breakfast we chilled then went to the opticians to drop my sunnies in, then went for a beautiful walk around Manly and its coastline! It was beautiful and a really nice day too!! Happy days! After the walk I went back to the house and chatted to Darren about nothing and everything while waiting for Erin to pick me up! In true Meharg style she was running late which was fine coz I got to talk to Darren more lol. Once she arrived we said goodbye and hopped in the car to Penrith! Once we got there it was a quick rush to get ready and out the door as we were heading to a football match (or rugby league for you all back home)!! It was Penrith Panthers vs Parramatta Eels, who I supported due to family ties lol. The Eels won and it was a great atmosphere!! A lot of fun! After the match we went to the Panthers club for cheap drinks! It was a good nite!
Sunday 4th May
After a very late night and an even later sleep in we got up and went for a hangover cure in McDonalds! Then we dandered around the shops, I got myself a new bag which is hand luggage size which is good! Then we headed to Yarramundi to Brenda and Samuels house. They have a lovely big house and Brenda took me for a walk around the grounds, it being on a lot of land! After the walk I went in and helped out with dinner and drinking Brenda's wine! I also made an apple pie... oh yeah, and it was good lol!! Then I got my BridgeClimb and flight from Melbourne to Sydney booked then joined Emma in the fun and festivities of SingStar!! Bloody hilarious and soo much fun lol.
Monday 5th May
This morning I woke up early and got the train into Sydney to Bondi Junction to meet up with Dennis, my Granny's cousin! He was really nice but totally different to the Mehargs, and not in a bad way! So we sat and talked for a good while in the bus station before going to the Sydney Roosters Club for lunch, delicious chicken schnitzel and chips! After lunch we headed down to Bondi Beach and went to North Bondi lookout, which had amazing views! So I got a couple of pictures then hopped back into the car where we drove to Dennis' unit! A very nice place I must say! He gave me a good bottle of wine and a wine book plus a wee cover for wine bottles which is really cute! After that we headed back down into Bondi Junction where Tracey picked me up. We went back to her place and just chilled and she made an amazing Thai green curry! Then I watched Old School, Pretty good movie lol
Tuesday 6th May
Woke up early to head to the Blue Mountains! I met up with Denise, a girl I met on the West Coast, it was really good seeing her again!! So off we went with Adventure Tours, with Mr Puddles as our tourguide! First stop was Wentworth Falls, a 2.5 hour round trip walk which was quite up and down but lovely! Then it was on to Furber Steps, formally called 1000 steps! Luckily we went down them instead of up! Once we reached the bottom we hopped on the steepest scenic railway in the world, going at an angle of 52 degrees! I was petrified, didn't enjoy it at all lol it was just too steep! Once we got up to the top we recovered in the shop then went on the bus to Echo Point where we climbed down to the Three Sisters! It was pretty cool, beautiful scenery and we were very lucky with the weather! Once I got back to Sydney Tracey Graham and I went for dinner then to the cinema to watch Smart People, it was quite good!
Wednesday 7th May
Up early again and this time it was the start of the 3 day tour to Melbourne! Got on the bus to find Michael, a Dutch guy I had shared the bus from Surfers Paradise to Byron Bay, and Rob, an English guy I had shared a room with in Surfers and the bus from Surfers to Byron! Small world! So off we went! Our first stop was Canberra, the Australian capital city! Here we went for lunch and then went to the Australia Museum which was pretty cool (me and Michael made 3D spaceships lol) then to the Parliment houses which were a bit boring but impressive all the same! Then back on the bus we went to go to Jindabyne, at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains! We stayed in a motel here, had a good dinner then played a few games of pool!
Thurdsday 8th May
Up early this morning to go to Mount Kosciuszko National Park! Mount Kosciuszko is Australia's highest mountain at 2200m! We did a walk to the Blue Lake but I didnt make it all the way, in fact I didnt even make it across the river! Since I have the small bag with me I dont have a change of warm shoes so culdn't risk getting my boots wet lol. So me, Helen, Nikki, and Sarah stayed behind and just relaxed at the river! Once the rest of them came back we went for lunch and I saw a wild platypus which was soooo cool! After the NP we went on a windy mountain road, barely wide enough for 2 cars to pass let alone a bus and a car! And it was sheer cliffs down on one side and walls of rock on the other! Scary as! But we passed over the NSW/Victoria border safely and visited some seriously small townships along the way, Suggam Buggam, popln 1 and Seldom Seen, popln 2!! We eventually made it to Lakes Entrance where we had a beach party after dinner and watched the stars! It was great fun!
Friday 9th May (Today)
Another very early start this morning! And off we went on our last leg to Melbourne! Our first stop was Wilson's Promentary National Park where we did a gorgeous walk along the headlands and got some spectacular views of the Southern Ocean! Then we got to walk along Squeaky Beach, which I was gonna do barefoot before I saw the hoards of jellyfish on the sand!! I quickly put my sandles back on lol! Once we got back to the bus we had lunch then drove off! We saw a wild wombat and some kangaroos on our way out of the national park! We eventually made it to Melbourne where I am now, currently missing out on Singles Night to update you all lol. But I've finally got caught up on it all, thank God! So I'll get pictures uploaded as soon as I can!!
Love and miss you all xxx
