Normal 0 We woke up in the morning and it was still really wet and miserable so we decided to head back to lao cai (you can do treks and things here but it didn't look fun when its always raining and you can't see anything!)We got on a bus and were on it for over an hour, driving round and round, when it reveresed it played the tune to 'its a small world'! slightly annoying! When we thought we were finally going to go as the bus was full they got everyone off and transferred us to another bus! It seems to be a very strange system! On the way down i took lots of pictures of the beautiful scenery and the futher down we got, the drier it was! At last! We were starving when we reached Lao Cai as it was 3pm and we hadn't eaten anything, but EVERYWHERE was closed as its a Sunday! Luckily there is a really big and expensive hotel with a casino that served food so we walked across the bridge to there. However, I asked for fried noodles and they brought me noodle soup that looked and tasted like the horrible noodles from Mr Lees in China, it still haunts me! At the hotel we were able to book a soft sleeper train (more spacious and 4 beds instead of 6) to Hanoi that eveing so we stayed in the hotel on the computer until it was nearly time for the train. The train was meant to arrive at 7.30pm but arrived at 8.20pm which was a tad annoying, but we seem to expect it so its not so bad! It was raining, again, so we ran to the platform, went to the wrong compartment as they muddled up the numbers, went to the right one where a woman dropped my hoody in a puddle and finally got on the train! The room was really nice and we were in with a Vietnamese couple so it wasn't too bad. We had something to eat and went to sleep. Not a very exciting day today! Normal 0
