we woke at 7am and had a manky breakfast at the hotel and i ent back to bed for a nap before we left for the 20 minutes bus ride to our camels.so at 9.30am we met them and began our journey. our leader, xin, juliette, me then tony were in one group and the others were behind. we followed the road for a while, crossed a main road and then entered the tennegar desert. The huge sand dunes and vast open spacce was incredible, teuly an amzing experience. Altough at first i diodnt trust jereomy (name i gave my camel) as he tripped and i thought i would fall off! my worst fear!! we rode for 1 1/2 hours before stopping for a toilet break (which felt very weird going to the loo just behind what you considered a safe sand dune!) and some people went sandboarding down a massive sand dune, even tony! however i didnt as the board looked small and the sand dune really high, i still dont regret not doing it!! we had a good lunch they provided and then we set off for another 2 hours to find a camp for the night. everybody seemed to nap whilst the camel guys went t re catch the camels that they had freed whilst we ate.
at about 4 we reached our spot and sat under a tree that the camels hastily began to eat! we had all dressed for cold and in the sun it was boiling, i was wearing jeans and a hoody!! the way here was fun, we went a bit higher and down bigger drops, that did make me rather nervous and i squealed a lot! one of the camel guys took some camels and went to the road to get our bedding, tents and dinner, he was gone a couple of hours, we are amazed as to how they find their way! the evening was fantastic, we watched the sun set, it was pretty but very fast and soon got very cold so made a fire with the wood we collected, along the way finding a lizard and a desert mouse!we had good food, rice, nodles, chicken, peppers, onion and beer. we then sat round the fire and the camel guys pulled out this vodka like stuff and we played the chinese drinking game, it was sooo funny, dave did too many shots to count, it was hilarious! the sky was breathtaking, even seeing the milky way clearly, it was so peaceful and just , beautiful. Xin got us to play an angels and devils card game before we all went into our tents we put up and had a cold nights sleep, despite 2 blankets, a duvet and 2 sleeping bags!!
in the morning we rode for 1 1/2 hours before getting the bs back to town, and i said farewell to jeremy, who pulled through this dy as our group got taken down a sheer drop, i was terriefied but it was sooo fun at the same time! an absolutely fantastic experience, by far one of my favout\rite memeries of this trip. we went to the hotel and got showered and i went to the internet cafe and mum was online!! we al met up had dinner anfd then on the pc and becky was online!! great day!! we then got the train to xi an.
