today was the most fntastic day, it serassed my expectations, we met in the lobby where the guide xin had got for us was waiting and we got in our bus for the 1 hour journey to get to the terricotta warriors!! straight away the guide began to explain to us how if the farmer had dug a meter to the eat they would never have been discovered which just amazed me and tone.We looked in three pits, the first was HUGE it holds 6,000 warriors but many are covered over they all face east as that is the only direction the enemy culd come in those days. The details of these were truly incredible, tony loved the horses. The secong building held the generals these were bigger but many had been destroyed because the riots a year after the emporer died, they were smashed and burned. Many were in pieces but it was still fantastic to see, i was in awe of it all. The third pit had the chariots and archers, these werent destroyed but the chariots were wooden so had rotted away. We saw bronze chariots with 4 horses, one was a decoy and the other for the emporer in his afterlife. we saw the farmer who discovered them, it was so sad as he has to sign autographs everyday, he looked so sad, w didnt want to ask fo his autograph as hes been theere 30 years because of his contract and cant leave. on the way out we saw furs which we realised were cats, alsations and st bernards, horrible.
we came back and had a nap before going out to the big goose pagado to watch the water show, it was amazing jets of water, fountains and colourful lights, with music in the background, it was awesome.apart from someone running infront of a jet and getting me, tony, jonny and katie wet!! it was a lot of fun and kind of reminded me of leeds castle!! we then went back and had an early night as the next day....chegdu!!!
