Poland:
The next day was pretty much dedicated to getting to Poland. As soon as we crossed the bored though you could tell you had changed countries and sides of Europe the roads were very rough and the buildings were more gray and the English had gone down a notch. When we arrived we got to have a traditional Jewish meal- don't ask me what I ate but it tasted absolutely amazing. After the meal we received the opportunity to view a jewish band play which was quite interesting. The building in which we ate was so beautiful. I would describe it as a beautiful ruin. After a few of us explored Cracow straight away I loved this city! There were markets everywhere and the night life was really awesome. The next day we visited a lot of jewish sites including the ghettos as seen in Shintlers list. Also we went to a look out point of Cracow which was on the castle. We than split in groups to look around the city and have lunch- the icecream here was amazing! Before long though we were on our way to Auschwitz. I had never seen anything like it. For the first 5 minuets or so we all we taking photos and what not but than after that nothing. You didn't feel like taking photos cause you didn't want it to be a tourist place and its hard to explain. But everyone was emotional here, even some of the boys cried. What sort of broke me was there was this wall of hair that was that long it took a good 3 minuets to walk down and one of the hairs was so little and still had a bow in it. After a while the piles of things got to me as well- It just felt like it was a never ending pile of just things. Seeing the shower room was also an experience I will never forget the feeling of standing in there was indescribable. We than went to a second concentration camp which apparently was even stricter than the first. It started pouring down rain here which really made you think cause we were threre a few hours and found it cold and miserable…
