On December 7th was the start to our round about tour. We had a debriefing to discuss insurance and travel matters for our exchange and by one we were on our way. Our first stop was at Wivenhoe Dam! It was very hot so the first thing we did was get in our tog and jump in the dam. Not all the exchange kids were keen though becuase the water wasn't exactly clear like they were use to. We also had to set up our tents, my tent buddies name was Matilda from Sweden! That night we has a camp fire going and marshmellows! Everyone kept dropping them though and I think I stood in 3 during the night =@ The next morning was a 6am start which sucked becuase we went to bed at midnight or later, I'n not sure.

We than packed our stuff up, had breakfast and travelled to Toowoomba, while going up the range the bus over heated so it took a while, but it was good to stretch out our legs at picnic point and look at the very pretty view. We than went to Dalby for lunch before going to Roma. I was the only kid from the country so I didn't see Roma as a 'hole' becuase it has Maccas but all the other exchange kids couldn't believe how small the town was. In Roma we stayed at a carivan park and at first we scared the people who owened it- 24 teenagers however we weren't any trouble. There was a pool there however it was rank! It smelt so bad- it was horrible. That night I played heaps of cards games. That morning a boy from France decided to take out our tent pegs and push over the tent while we were sleeping, it was funny, but I was still pissed off becuase it made packing it back up extra hard.

You know that saying you don't know what you've got till its gone? well the next day we went to a very very small town called Indune. Within seconds of arriving everyone wanted Roma back. The town had a pool but it was only open twice a week. This town was so hot and humid and there was nothing to do. But an hour later we turned on the small sprinklers (we waisted heaps of water but there was nothing else to do) and we all played in the water! A few people including our bus driver Bud put soapy water on the cement and slid down it on thier belly- it was pretty funny. I also played soccor with a girl from Belgium and Brisbane- I started learning it becuase when I go to Sweden I may play it. We also played some more card games.

After getting ready we left Indune- it was a beautiful moment :') and we departed for Carnarvon Gorge. I was looking forward to this becuase it was rumored to be a beautiful walk. Which it was, there was Aboriginal art, waterfalls and great look out points. However we walked for around 15km to 20km between 10 and 2pm which is the hottest hours of the day! It sucked I and most other exchange kids had only one bottle of water! So we were dehidrated and hungry. Where ever there was a waterfall or running water we could fill up our waterbottles but in still water you can't. But it was just so hot here. By the afternoon it was raining but it was hot rain so not quite enjoyable. We were ment to return to Indune however thankfully the bus drivers took us to Mitchell.

Once again we didn't know what we had till it was gone. We were in Bore Water. That is water that has come from the ground. It smells like rotten eggs and it hard to drink if you are not use to it. It also is hot- becuase it comes from the ground. But luckily this town has a pool! So we went swimming for around 3 or 4 hours and played lots of water sport games whch was really nice! We than left for Chareville! Which was red dirt country however it was the closest thing to luxury we have had in a while. That night for dinner was incredible- it was like a buffet and the food was just so nice! we were at the CosMos Center. After dinner we got to look at the moon for only a few seconds becuase the rain had come. just our luck! We finally get to do an activity and it rains so we cann't see the stars. When we got back I got to feed and has a baby kangaroo- It was so cute! we also got to have marshmellows and billy tea. There was a digaredoo (not sure of spelling but that stick Aboriginals blow into for music) a boy named Nick from Germany was incredible at it- he could cycl breth and he was so good

The next day we headed for St George. It seemed like a pretty rough town but it was fine! When we got there we went to the creak to swim. The exchange kids were worried about the crocodiles and sharks that could have been in it (it was fresh water). I was more worried about the glass that was everywhere! That night was the towns festival! This was my favourite part of the trip, we all danced Australian dances like the nuttbush, macarina and the chicken dance. It was so much fun! That night we also got into a circle and had to tell the group 2 things we had learnt about our tent buddy, our country we are going to and negative and positives about the trip. Aparently every night when Matilda and I would talk everyone in the camp site could hear us. so basically we didn't need to answer the questions cause the whole crew already knew everything ay.

Before leaving St George we visited the Unique Egg. this shop was a one of a kind. It was Emu eggs that has been carved into designs. It was so beautiful and hard to describe how pretty it was. we were than were on our way and stopped at Goondiwindi for lunch before heading to my town Pittsworth. Before reaching Pittsworth I talked on the microphone about the country and how my primary school only had 15 kids or so and about the farm I live on. Once in Pitty we went to the town pool for an hour, it was very nice and refreshing and we played with the ball so it was pretty good. That night we got to go to another festival. We got a photo with Santa, went on the slippery dip and the caracell. There were flame throwers and acrobatic acts. and we danced again which was hepas of fun!

The next day was the end of the trip, after another swim in the pool the bus departed for Wacol Brisbane and I stayed in Pittsworth. I'm going to miss each and everyone of the kids I met on this camp. although the places we went to didn't have much activities planned for us, it gave us heaps of time to bond, especially the long bus trips. We all got along so well and talked about everything it has been one of the best camps I've ever done and thankyou everyone who was on it, for making it so.
