We were able to get a 2 hour direct boat from Kho Tao to Kho Phagnan on 15th Feb, in time for the half moon party that night (or so we thought!!). We arrived on Kho Phangang having not pre booked anywhere to stay and were met by lots of hotel touts on the pier, as seems to be the trend on the islands. The journey to Kho Tao was a little long from Ko Samet, but was well worth it!! We arrived on Kho Tao on Sun 12th Feb after a night of travelling and a few hours sat at the port, but we had pre booked accommodation in Bangkok as we got a good transport and accommodation deal, so it was great to arrive and not be looking around and pricing up places to stay. We spent 3 nights on the island of Ko Samet which is only a few hours from Bangkok. Arriving at Ko Samet we had had a few tips from Simon and Kirsty who we met in Fiji, and so we saved on a taxi cost and trekked to accommodation with our rucksacks in the heat…the things you will do to save a few pounds!! We stayed in a nice bungalow hut and enjoyed a few relaxed days here. The island has some really nice bards and places to eat so that's pretty much what we did...

So on Monday 6th Feb we left Bangkok and headed for Pak Chong on the bus; the town near to Khao Yai National Park. We had pre booked to stay at the 'Greenleaf' guesthouse who we had heard do the best tours of the park, so they came and picked us up from the bus which was handy. We stayed there for 2 nights in a lovely wee hut, quite hot in there but there was fan so we positioned it well at night and managed fine! On the Tuesday 7 Feb we had an amazing day do...

So on Friday 3rd Feb we set off at 7am and got the train from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi - the town where bridge on the river Kwai is. We left our rucksacks with the hotel in Bangkok as we would be returning there, and it was lovely to just have a small bag for once!
