We left Ko Lanta at 8am on Wed 29th Feb and had arrived in Georgetown, Penang by 8pm...so was a full day of travel but we were glad to get that done and dusted, The border crossing from south thailsnd into Malaysia was really staright forward, just stamping out on your passport from thailand and getting stanped into Malaysia, as well as having your bags scanned. The ferry to Ko Lanta from Phi Phi on Sat 25 Feb took just over an hour which was great. As expected we were greeted off the boat by lots of hotel touts and tuk tuks but they were actually quite pushy here, more so than anywhere else we have been in the south islands of thailand. At one point And and I had become separated for a minute and one tout actually followed me, pushing a leaflet against my arm over and over despite me saying 'no thank you, no thank you' ...

On Thursday 23rd Feb we left Ton Sai beach (the home of rock climbing) and got the boat over to Phi Phi which took 1.5 hours.We were sad to leave Ton Sai as it was so stunning and had mixed feeling about going to Phi Phi; we sort of felt it was somewhere we should go but we thought it would be a bit too touristy for us - but boy are we glad we went!! We exited Burma on Sunday 19th Feb and did the immigration run in reverse. All went very straightforwardly and Burma immigration gave us back our passports as agreed! Again there was lots of boat climbing and balancing acts with our rucksacks, we are becoming pros at that now and are thinking about joining a circus out here to make some extra cash! What an adventure!!! From Kho Phagnan we left at 6.30am on Friday 17th Feb and got the boat and then the bus to Suratthani, over on the mainland in Thailand.
