Just read the latest postings on your msg board - as I speak you are probably well and truly in Australia.
I'm just checking our Bureau of Meteorology website - Cairns shouldn't be too bad rain wise today.

We have had a little rain here today - nothing like the ice cold rain of the UK - but it is clearing & hopefully you will have blue skies upon your arrival in Townsville in a few days time.

Now Natalie - what is this about "bring on the surfers? " It's more like a case of ride the ripples in Towsville.

You will find that as we have a wonder of the world - being the Great Barrier Reef - on our doorsteps that we don't get much call for surf. You will most probably find if you head further south to Bris-Vegas (aka Brisbane) that they have awesome surf about 1 hr's drive North - called Noosa/Surfers Paradise or if you drive 1 hr South you reach the well publicised "Gold Coast".

Anyways - can't wait to see you both. Aunty Linda and Aunty Nettie are also rather excited about your visit.

Mum and Aunty B said it was the funniest thing they had ever seen.

Hello from Cairns!!!! We are finally in Australia!!! The flight was good, once we actually found out the flight number and terminal number which we kind of forgot to think about! Oops! Guess what, i watched the take off and landing through the window and i was not scared!! Got to our hostel at about 6am and crashed out. We got up at 3pm this afernoon!! The hostel is really nice, huge pool, friendly staff and they are showing Finding Nemo on a huge screen at the moment. Couldnt ask for any more!! We are already missing everyone from the group, and its hard to have to think for ourselves again!!
Anyway, we are going to go and eat our breakfast now. (at 430pm!) Just wanted to let you know we are here.

Sorry, didn't get messages in Guernsey - couldn't get a signal. Very pretty island, not commercialised. Lots of wining, dining, walking and sight-seeing.
Thanks for your call this morning (our time).
Nanny has had to go back into hospital as an infection developed in the knee that was operated on - a ruptured ligament caused it - she has had another operation to sort it out but it has put her rehabilitation back somewhat. Still, her first comment to me was that the surgeon was 'a bit of alright'. I've kept her up to date with your news and sent her your love as requested.
Funeral of grandma is next Thursday, 14th April, 10 a.m. In many ways it was a relief because, as you know, for some time now it has been difficult to motivate her to think positively about carrying on. She has had a good life and will be missed greatly. I know you will be there in spirit. Poor Alan has been left to make most of the arrangements with Mavis in New Zealand, nan in hospital and Paul and us on holiday.
Anyway...enjoy the Aussie bit to your 'off exploring'.....awaiting further news.

Hi again!!!!! We have checked out of the hotel but have a few hours to wait before we go to the airport!! YIPEE!! So we are making the most of the internet and veg out room! Its good because we are soooo hung over!!! We had a really good night last night and have said some of our goodbyes this morning which is really sad. Most of the others are staying on in Singapore for another few days but im glad we are going today. We cant wait to get to Aus!! I booked our hostel yesterday, and it sounds like a fun place. The lady on the phone was really nice and friendly, so we are looking forward to checking in there at about 5am!!
Anyway, gonna go now and look for cars and camper vans on the net!!!!
