We arrived in nha trang on our night bus (the one mentioned in yesterday's post, with the lunatic driver.) once I had retrieved my iPad we made our way to true friends inn where we were staying. We chilled for a wee while and had some breakfast at a restaurant called lantern. As check in wasn't for quite a few hours we booked ourselves in to the spa. In nha trang they have many spas but we managed to go to one for 210,000 vnd which is about £6, not too shabby for what we got.
Hayley, katrina, Emma, josh, sam, matt and reevesley were picked up at 11 by the nicest taxi driver I have encountered here, he was absolutely lovely, just waiting patiently for us all to sort ourselves out and playing adorable music. We got to the spa and went straight in to the mud baths, I was envisaging the glorious thick chocolatey mud that we had in the dark cave in phong nha, unfortunately in the spa it more resembled diarrhoea. None the less we splashed around like happy piglets, pouring it all over eachothers heads. It hurt like a b**** when it got in your eyes, but there is nothing you can do when your hands are covered in mud as well. The next stage was to shower all the mud off, the showers were a tad erratic to say the least, you turned on the tap and someone just walking in the other side would get hit in the face, the taps were not logical.
Next stop, hot mineral water bath, same as in the mud bath, we took photos, we splashed around, this time without getting mud in our eyes. I think this bath was my favourite, just felt like a bath at home.
Calzone for lunch, although it is starting to get to me that my food always, without fail, comes out last. I get so hangry and can't help but tapping and look like a loon fidgeting so much.
We decided to chill out round the spa after lunch as we still had a few hours before our driver picked us up. Promptly we all fell asleep on our sunbeds, waking up with minutes to spare before the driver arrived, it's a shame but I didn't get an opportunity to try out the pools.
That evening we decided to showcase our garments we had made in hoi an, personally I think we looked sick. Bloody loved my dress. We made ourselves pretty and headed out to meet the boys for dinner. I think the restaurant was called 'viet xue' but that's a guess. My dinner, again, came last. When I say my food comes last, it isn't like 2/3 minutes after the first food arrives. EVERYONE has finished their dinner by the time I get mine. Everyone. Although my dinner was delicious, it came in a pineapple, so my annoyance quickly evaporated. After dinner we had shots. Tequilaaaaaa aaarrrriiiibbbbbbaaaaaaa! And so my night began.
I got chatting to an Australian guy, Sean, I have come to realise, my sense of humour and the Aussie sense of humour go quite well together. So we had a giggle. Then his pal james came over, he is from Leighton buzzard, I ended up spending most of the night with the guys, playing pool and chatting the standard traveller chat (where have you been/where you going/how long you out here for blah blah blah). Unfortunately I had one shot too many by the third bar, and announced to Emma that I needed to be taken home, if she would be so kind. Once we got back to the hostel I realised that actually all I needed was some air, so I merrily made my way back out with Emma again.
Only to come home with Hayley about 10 minutes later as I was a tired little soul.
A long one for a relatively uneventful day.
