Mauritius is the only known habitat of the now extinct dodo bird. Yep, that is where we are going next: Port Louis, Mauritius. We have one more day until we get there - YEAH!!! We have had a nice journey from Cape Town so far. The first nights were VERY rocky as we entered the area where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans begin to mix. Then, we ran into a storm, so there was one day where no one could go outside at all, even though it was beautiful. It was really windy and when we hit the big waves, if you were outside, you would get a mouthful as the spray came up over the decks.
We have had a few "extended family" outings so we posted some pictures in a new album on the blog. Now you can meet all of our "children!" We adopted a new boy a few days ago; we were at our daughter Kamrin's birthday party and he asked if he could be in our family. Of course we said yes. Now we have 6 children... whew! Last night we had a pizza party for them and played Taboo - we all had a great time and laughed a lot together. We really got lucky, we have wonderful children. We have the best kind of children, they are already grown and we don't have to support them financially!
Fun Facts:
-Last night we had an open mic night and the students sang, read poetry and played their guitars. We have some very talented students on the ship.
-Mauritius is about 560 miles east of Madagascar
