Neil's Round the World Trip!
We got up and decided to hire a car and see the South Island. We picked up our car and drove around Dunedin past the Cadburys Factory, Speights Brewery and beautiful Railway Station. We also tried to find Baldwin Street one of the steepest streets in the world but couldn't find it so settled for Duncan Street which was really steep.
We then drove south to Milton and up towards Queenstown stopping off in a town called Te Anau to have brunch. We continued driving through the picturesque scenery past Cromwell (you really are driving in a postcard; amazing!) and finally after some twisty roads reached Queenstown. The town is really nice and is right next to a beautiful lake and surrounded by the Remarkables Mountain Range which are remarkable! We checked into a dodgy hostel, Downtown Backpackers and then booked our cruise on the Milford Sound for the following day. We sampled the nightlife which was hugely disappointing. We went to some of the popular bars which were either empty, no atmosphere or full of Maori mafia.
So we went to bed around 1am but have to get up early tomorrow for our cruise anyway.
