It feels like ages since i've wrote anything , but i haven't done alot . After getting back to Thailand from Greece , i went to Kanchanaburi to see the river kwai and hellfire pass . Which was part of the death railway that the Japanese forced POW's to build during WWII . It's amazing and moving to walk 4km of the track , especially knowing that 200,000 people died building it . Walked across the bridge over the river kwai , and had a good time swimming in the river until , a big fat half eaten cow came floating past , i couldn't get out the water quick enough !!
After a few days i got the train and boat down to Koh Pha Ngan , were i managed to do absolutely nothing at all for the best part of 6 weeks . Spent the time on Had Kuat a secluded beach on the north of the island surrounded by jungle covered mountains . I spent most days sleeping in my hammock , playing football or volleyball , or swimming in the sea .
At least 3 or 4 times a week somebody somewhere , on the beach would be having a bonfire on the beach , with fireworks and firesticks . This was also my first introduction to whisky buckets , or for the more discerning alcoholic gin & tonic buckets . There were quite a few people that were staying there for atleast 3 weeks so it felt like a small paradise community . The only times that i left the beach , were to go to the Full Moon Party and the Half Moon Party on the other side of the island . Both were noisy , drunken , sweaty alnight parties . Both were awesome . Watching the 12,000 people on Had Rin Beech for the Full Moon Party was an amazing sight . The most bizare sight of the night was watching a local fisherman sorting his nets at 9am with the party still going , while he was flanked on one side by a naked guy taking a piss in the sea , and on the other side by a couple having sex . The fisherman seemed totally oblivious to what was going on !!
After finally leaving behind the beach and buckets of Thailand . I headed down to Kuala Lumper in Malaysia . Mainly to watch the asian cup , where a group of us went to nearly every game involving Malaysia , China , Iran and Uzbekistan . Spent a week in Kuala Lumper and every night was such a random night . It was probably one of the best weeks i've ever had . Involving Chinatown , Reggae Bar , An allnight private bar outside a supermarket created by us , A tramp called Steve O , Umper Lumpers , Cockroaches , Private swimming pools and street buskers playing Creedence at the street bar . Some great parties and a little sight seeing .
I've just got up to the Cameron Highlands to do a few days trekking . Before headed of to a national park to do some jungle tekking . Then of to Singapore . Hope everyones ok , laters !!!
