Hello all!! i (we) have made it to phuket. we arrived on tuesday after another adveture of a journey (i wish someone would film it...you've been framed could be owing us some seriuos money by now!!).

we flew over from ko samui to phuket on a twin engine propeller thing (dad, i took photos and a movie) which was a little scary...but we landed safe after 50min journey. it then said that we had to get a bus from the airport to phuket town to then get to patong....so we caught the bus...which was fine...and then rain started...to pink/purple pac a mac was on...(such a picture!) and we had to leg it from the bus to the bus station in monsoon rains...everybody in the bus station was laughing at us... and then once we got there found out that we had missed the last bus and had to get a taxi (which we could have done from the airport). so we got into this grey rattle box...otherwise known as a taxi...everything was fine until we had to cross the hill...theses are very steep and winding and it was still raining...the car began to make funny noises as the guy tried to drop down a gear...but he couldnt so we ended up stranded on the hill in rush hour...after about 5mins we grabbed our bags (all flippin 20kgs) and made a run for it up the hill...where we were rescued by a lovely tuk tuk man!!!it was so funny....kept us chuckling all night.

we arrived at out 'hotel' which was clean(ish) and had a massive bathroom only to discover that the view outside our window was a lovely brick wall. it was roughly (we didnt have a ruler) 6inches from the window...so no daylight, no anything really so we only stayed 2 nights and now we are staying somewhere closer to the beach...whicj\h is also clean(ish) but it has a balcony and full evening entertainment as we look out over all the bars and nightlife.

we didnt really do much wednesday and thursday except just lie on the beach and turn over occasionally...sometimes we even slept..life is so hard..!!today we have been on a tour of the island...it was nice to get out and do somthing. we have been to a waterfall (another one..onto number 4 by now...the excitment is dwindling), a gibbon rehabillitation centre, a temple, a hand made jewlerry shop (very expensive but very nice) aviewpoint that looks down 3 of the main beaches. we went to a pineapple farm, a cashew nut factory...and we went canoeing too...that was good it was around where they farm the muscles.

i have taken lots and lots more pics but it will be a while before i get to put them on...i hope you are well...and enjoying the snow..i am sure you dont want to know but its even hotter here than ko samui about 35deg...its lovely.

oz is beckoning..i fly on monday from bangkok to melbourne for a couple of weeks. i guy i used to work with has invited me over to stay in tassie for a couple of days but depends on the funds....
