This is gonna be a short one as only there for one day.
Got a taxi from the greyhound station, the hotel was meant to be close but was actually like half an hour away in the middle of nowhere. We couldn’t afford to get taxi into town as was costing like 40 dollars a time. And because we’d got up before 5am in San Diego to get the bus we were very tired so had an early night...well I tried but my stomach was hurting a lot so didn’t get much sleep and ended up speaking to mum a lot of the night online. The room’s air con wasn’t very good either and it was like 40 degrees when we got there. We kept seeing heat warnings on TV as well and the following day it got up to 43degrees...ridiculous heat, we sunbathed and was in the pool for most of the day taking a lot of breaks to sit in the shade. I came in at 12 ish to skype Mum, Lis and Jamie and got to see my little man awake and smiling...well getting wind ha ha. He’s such a cutie and it really made me miss home, I love every minute of it here but I am so excited about coming home and seeing everyone. We decided the heat was too much about half 3 and later that night went for a Chinese down the road. We were well impressed with the price; 8.99 for Chinese buffet and as many drinks as you like. We soon realised why: the food was not great at all but we did find amusement in the form of a man in a wheel chair...this is going to sound harsher than it was. First of all when he came wheeling in holding a massive cup I thought he was begging for money, soon I realised he was waiting at the table opposite us he got out a bag full of about 50 different kinds of napkins and tissue and started counting them and laying them out on the table. Then he got out 3 spoons and 3 forks, he got 3 cups from the waitress and then as he was sorting stuff out because he couldn’t reach across the table he got out and walked over to the other side! A MIRACLE! He could walk Nat was laughing and me and Char were in stitches at this very strange man who could clearly walk but was using a wheel chair...this is America; there are a hell of a lot of strange people here. We went home to pack and get slushy’s on the way, Char was well excited as all the sizes of cups for slushy were 79c....as she put it “why would anyone buy a small cup if it’s the same price as a big one” haha she loved her slushies!!
The next day we headed for Flagstaff; just a little town in Arizona....
