Our last day in Mazatlan for most of us. Bob, Vic and Thelma are all staying until Wednesday. We had breakfast with our Mazatlan Rotarian friends this morning and recieved certificates of appreciation. We also presented gifts to our friends. It has been a very successful project. After a busy day yesterday, we all needed a day off to recuperate. Everybody took good advantage of the day. Some guys went with Colleen to the El Cid Golf course. Some went shopping and sight seeing around town. Some spent time at the beach and laying by the pool. One even did a boat tour of the area. All in all, just a good day. Today was presentation day where we delivered all six units to their new owners. We had breakfast at the hotel this morning.Then we loaded the school bus and were off to visit three schools in the area of Mazatlan.The first school was a pallet school with pressed cardboard roof and wooden slats for the walls.It is in an area where public funding for schools is not yet provided.The school is run by parents and volunteer teachers.The parents were preparing a good lunch for the students when we visited. This morning we travelled by school bus to the Aqua Marine Hotel for an early Rotary meeting at Pepesan's Rotary Club.We received a warm welcome at the Club.It was an opportunity to meet everybody and make presentations to members of the Club for their support of the Rotary to Mexico project.
