We're currently driving from Coonabarabran to Warren and beyond - heading ever westwards. We left the Warrumbungles this morning after three amazing days.
On our first day we went to the Mt Siding observatory on the way into the National Park. So much information there on astronomy.
Tuesday saw Austen heading of for some serious walking and Tim and I mooching around on nature trails for about 6km.
Wednesday Tim and I followed Austen's path of the day before. We covered 14.6km and did The Grand High Tops walk, circling around The Breadknife. Austen headed for Mt Exmouth - 16km.
Tremendous storm Wednesday night - 60-70mm rain and strong winds. We were camped on the far side of a creek and had to cross a ford to get out. We had visions of being stranded but were fine. The frogs loved the rain.
Packed up camp this morning, queued for a hot shower, then did Fan's Horizon walk - 1004 steps! Today's photo shows why the walk has that name. If you check our photo album there are shots of the view and of Tim on the Breadknife, and of the track we walked to get there.
Hope everyone is well. We're counting the days till we're home. We really appreciate any comments and the family emails we've been receiving.
We're now headed for Wilapena (sp?) Pound and perhaps the wildlife sanctuary near Quorn in SA …

Dad We are really enjoying your blogs. Mum has just sent another email.
Fiona I just spent a week on a meditation retreat. It was good to forget everything and just focus on the moment. It rained a bit and its still cool. I hope you have not seen any funnel webs over there. The shot of Tim in the mountains is a nice one. I am printing some out at work on the colour printer and laminating them for M and D.
Lesley Great photos of the walk :) Mike and I read the blog daily and it's great to read your travel tales!
