We landed in Phuket airport from Hong Kong and we got our bags really fast and got through imagration really fast. We were looking forward to just getting to our accomidation by the peir to sleep ready to get a boat to Phi Phi the next day, BUT when the taxi bloke asked where it was that we are staying, Ash went to get his iPhone from his bag and .... He had left it on the plane (s***!!! along with his iPod double s***) So he ran back into the baggage place, sweating like a mad man by this point, and asked anyone with a walkie talkie to tell the plane. To cut a long story short we had to wait for about an hour but this lady came walking over with both items Ash wanted to kiss this woman but thought it would be inapropriate. On the way to the taxi rank we booked our boat for the next day so all we had to do was wake up and get on the boat. We had to wait for an hour and a half for a taxi as they tried to make us sit on peoples knees and we refused, but finally we got to our hotel in Phuket and went to sleep.
The next morning we got the boat and arrived on Koh Phi Phi, it was a lovely little island but it was really hot after spending a week in Hong Kong. As soon as we got of the boat we got hounded by people trying to sell us accomodation (Its not mentioned in the lonley planet that you can't just walk around looking for hotels as these guys buy all the rooms and charge you more for them) we went to one of these agents and found somewhere in our price range and we were glad to see by the pictures that it had a pool! We walked to the hotel as we couldn't be bothered to wait for the "Taxi" (man with a wheelbarrow, no cars on the island) we got there and were pleasantly suprised the pool, it was lovley and we went straight in, but the room really smelt damp and Ash wanted to move but Becky said it would be ok. We went out that night and got really drunk (which is too easy on PhI Phi as there is a party on the beach everynight) we went to this reggae bar (that played celene dion????) where people could fight each other in a ring and get a free bucket of alchohol ( which many people do after theve had a few drinks). Part way through the night it started thundering and lighting and absoloutly chucking it down, so we (being really drunk) decided to go out in this tropical storm. But in the end it was a really good idea because we went down to the beach and one bar was still open and there was loads of drunk people dancing in the rain so we joined them! Also sticking with tradition on this trip, the first night anywhere we get really drunk and spend too much money. The next morning we complaned about the room but all they could do was move us to a different room that would cost more, but the room was really horrible, the new room was lovely and had aircon and a pool view. He let us have it for 1300baht instead of 1400baht. Pretty much all we did on Phi Phi was get drunk and chilled by the pool, apart from a few nights as Ash felt to "delacate" one night and Becky was really ill with food poisoning for a couple.
We did go on a camping trip to Maya bay the beach from the film "The beach". It was a really good night we arrived just as hundreds of tourists were leaving and we had the beach to ourselves all night about 20 of us in total. At some point in the night we all went swimming as there is glowing plankton in the water, it was really cool and we both just stood in the water splashing ( this made them light up) for about an hour. We ended up drinking with an english couple and two irish brothers. We all got really drunk and ended up drinking our 2 free buckets by about 10 so then we moved onto Chang (Thai beer). After that was all gone Ash and the other guys moved to straight vodka using the chang cans as cups(classy). We then went to sleep on the beach in some old scabby sleeping bags by about 5am. The next morning Becky woke up at 6am to watch the sunrise, Ash woke up about an hour later and took some pictures of the empty beach. On the boat back we went snorkleing with sea turtles, well Ash did Becky stayed on the boat feeling ill. She was not quite over her food poisoning and should not have eaten or drank. We got back to the hotel at 10am after the trip we switched the aircon on and didn't move again until 6pm. We arranged to go out with everyone who we had been hanging out with the night before for some "Quiet drinks". In the end it didn't turn out to be quiet drinks Ash got really drunk with everyone and stayed on the beach dancing till 2am, but Becky still not feeling ok had to sit on a chair near us drinking water. You know Becky is properly ill when she can not drink! She found it so funny to watch people get drunker and drunker as she had never stayed sober on a night out before. At one point she noticed Ash had ripped his shorts all the way round the back and you could see his pants. She also had to confiscate the camera and his wallet as there was a 99% chance of him losing them. It was so hard to get Ash to go home, she had to bribe him away from the beach bars with offers of getting pizza on the walk home.
On the last day we really hadn't done much so we walked up these huge steps to the view point. It was the highest part on the island and we got some really good pictures. Once we were at the top becky had a really red face from the walk, as she still felt abit ill. we soon headed back to the hotel as it was far too hot up there. As soon as we arrived we ran staight for the pool and Ash noticed that Becky had a really red face still and kept calling her rudolf (how charming) but it soon disapered in the pool because it was so refreshing.
We really enjoyed Koh Phi Phi as we were only meant to stay there for no longer than a week but ended up staying for 12 nights, Ash just kept going to reception saying "can we have a few more nights please" and as we stayed there for that long they even dropped the price to 1200 baht for us.
