We had a nice morning that consisted of board games and breakfast. Lexi, Minty's sister was the biggest sleepyhead and needed a fake but scary bomb to wake her. To make up for the early morning wake up we all donated some money for her half marathon, in which she is raising money for the leukemia foundation. We watched a bit of Merlin before jumping into the car and heading for Barry's house.
We got there after one and a half hours of driving in the car.
Luckily for us we were able to miss the 6 mile car park in the m1. Our section of the M1 had been closed after a serious traffic accident. We just heard the news of the M1 closure as we approached the exit before the accident. Phew, and thank goodness for the radio and signs that alerted us to the accident. I sure would not have fancied sitting in the car on the M1 for 2 hours.
We greeted Barry very briefly before heading off to the Drum and Monkey Restaurant. We had a quick look at the menu before ordering our starters. We chatted quite a bit before the starters arrived. We had some garlic bread before asking for our main meals. I had a mini pizza with fries and then as a surprise I had a Raspberry sundae with mini marshmallows.
After farewelling Barry we successfully navigated our way back to Milton Keynes and had a lovely dinner and dessert with Minty's family.
