Leaving New York
In our own executive car on the way to JFK for our flight to LA and then onwards to Auckland, New Zealand!! These 2 added together will be 20 hours in the air!! Sarah worked out that by the time we get to New Zealand we will have spent over a quarter of our honeymoon in a plane!!
Our final day in NYC has still been memorable. We checked out of the hotel this morning and had breakfast in a US diner then headed downtown to Times Square to watch the Veterans Day parade to commemorate 11-11-11. Amazing to see the public admiration and support for the forces and emergency services in the US compared to elsewhere!!
Time to squeeze in a few minutes of shopping for memento's and a slice of New York Cheesecake before leaving the Big Apple to move onwards.
In summary..... New York is an amazing city. Beautiful and yet at times grotesque...... Vast and overwhelming and yet poignant and personal...... Bright to the point of being blinding and yet dark and secluded. It is quite simply a wonderful city similar to the way London is in its own right.
So the number 1 question...... The question in plain sight...... The oldest question set in time....... No, not Doctor Who??
As seen everywhere here..... I Love New York.....??
Well do we?
As you will no doubt know..... We love each other. We love our families and friends alike. Love New York?? I'm afraid it is just going to have to cope with us liking it very much.
Sweet Dreams New York, we hope to see you again some day
Kia Ora The Land of the Long White Cloud.
