Woke up at 4am and Beejal dropped us to Heathrow for our 6.20am flight to Madrid, where we would connect to go on to Lima.
A morning Starbucks, followed by a sleep on the plane got us to Madrid for 9.30am where we had a 3 hour wait for our Iberia flight to Lima. We killed time by having a breakfast burger from Harry J Bean, which was surprisingly good.
We boarded the flight and set off on the 12 hour journey. It was an old school plane with a communal tv, which wasn't great, so we had to deal with it the old way by sleeping and reading.
When we finally landed in Lima, we got our bags and jumped into a taxi to our hostel, Miraflores house. On the way we found Lima to have good roads but some shabby looking buildings. There were also a few chains and I was excited to see a KFC and Shivani a Pizza hut. When we got to our hostel we checked in and met the owner Francis who gave us a through explanation of what we could do in Lima over a pisco sour. By the end of that it was 10pm and we decided to call it a night, so we could get up and explore tomorrow.
