After a sleep in we woke up to a gorgeous sunny day and decided to go to the zoo.
We needed fuel for all that walking so first we headed to our new favourite Mexican- Calima's- a 24 hour diner. Will had his breakfast of choice- a burrito, Phoebe had a taco. Will is our waiter and loves filling up the unlimited refill drinks.
The zoo was fantastic and very easy to find your way around. Our SoCal City Pass included entry, the bus tour and Skyway - a overhead gondola. We headed to the Skyway first to give us an overhead view of the park. Our first stop was the polar bears but because it was so warm they weren't very active. We saw heaps of animals that we can't see in Australia like lions, cheetahs, mountain lions, and pandas.
Will's favourite animals were the orangutang, gorillas and pandas. Phoebe loved the mountain lions, meerkats and mountain lions. It was well worth staying for the late afternoon because a lot of the nocturnal animals were waking up and being fed breakfast. We spoke to lots of zoo keepers about their animals and watched them feed them.
Will rated the day as 1000/10- he said the zoo was AWESOME!!
